Seven local athletes were named to the Upper Iowa Conference all-conference volleyball list, released this week.

Turkey Valley placed four athletes on the list, while South Winn placed three.

First team

Junior Ali Hoffert from Turkey Valley is the lone first-team honoree. It’s her second all-conference nod. Last season Hoffert was a second-team selection as a South Winn athlete. Hoffert led the Trojans with 199 kills, putting up a .236 kill efficiency. She connected on 93 percent of her serves, going 259-for-278 with a team-high 46 aces. She also provided 163 digs (1.96 digs per set), 31 blocks and 44 assists.

Second team

One Trojan and one Warrior were selected for second-team honors.

Turkey Valley setter Josie Weber dished out 476 assists. The sophomore led the team in serve efficiency with 94.7 percent. She went 357-for-377 with 39 aces, adding 144 digs and 20 blocks to her season.

From South Winn, exchange student, Sara Biraschi, earned a second-team nod. The junior led the way in kills with 93 (1.60 per set). She also provided 195 digs, 20 blocks while serving 166-for-196 with 35 aces.

Honorable mention

Two spikers from each school were chosen as honorable mention candidates.

From South Winn, Makayla Hageman and Eryn Luzum were chosen. Hageman led the team in digs with 209 (3.07 per set), while making 87 kills (1.28 per set). The senior also provided 49 assists, six blocks and had a 121-for-152 serving mark with 19 aces.

Luzum led the Warriors in assists with 165 (2.75 per set) while making 85 digs. The sophomore also produced 20 aces while going 146-for-171 at the serving line.

For the Trojans, Katlyn Baumler and Breanna Busta were honored.

Baumler was second in kills, pounding down 138, with a .138 kill efficiency. She led TV with 55 blocks (44 assists, 11 solo).

Busta was third on the team in kills with 94. The senior had a 91.4 serve efficiency, going 212-for-232 with 25 aces for the Trojans. With 23 blocks, Busta was third on the team while coming up with 145 digs.
