In an all-around team effort Tuesday night, the Turkey Valley  volleyball team (2-1) swept Riceville (0-5) 3-0.

Set scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-17.

“Absolutely everyone contributed and we are starting to play with some belief and confidence that makes us a great deal more consistent. It’s fun to see girls’ confidence build and have that be affirmed in how they play,” said Coach Ethan Adams. “We got a lot of free balls and capitalized often, but that won’t always be the case. People are stepping in and owning their various roles, and it’s contributing more than some of them know. We need to carry this into conference play and be ready to face some more offense from the other side of the net as we enter the heart of our season.”

Ali Hoffert led the way, slamming down 17 kills and grabbed 12 digs. Adding six kills apiece were Kourtney Schmidt and Sayler Drilling. At the service line, Drilling fired off 26-for-28 with a pair of aces. Josie Weber dished out 32 assists.

The Trojans will visit West Union Tuesday, Sept. 15, in a UIC match versus North Fayette Valley at 7:30 p.m.
