Five members of the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team and three from South Winn were named to the all-Upper Iowa Conference list recently.

First team

One from each local squad notched first team nods for leading their respective teams.

Turkey Valley junior Ethan Leibold picked up his second first team honor with a 17.6 point per game average, connecting for a staggering 405 points during the 2018-19 season. He hit 60.8 percent from the field and a team-high 73.3 percent from the free throw line. Leibold was fierce under the net, collecting 304 rebounds (80 offensive, 224 defensive), for a 13.2 per game average. Overall, he was second in assists with 49 and fourth in steals with 24.

Warrior starting point guard Jacob Herold led the Warriors in scoring with 274 total points, for an average of 13 points per game. Providing an all-around solid game, the sophomore led South Winn in assists and steals with 64 and 46, respectively. He added nine blocked shots to the stat sheet as well. Off the rim, Herold averaged 3.5 rebounds per game, totaling 57 (14 offensive, 43 defensive).
