Three first-half goals proved to be the undoing for the Decorah girls soccer team (3-10) Monday night on the road as the Vikes fell to Cedar Falls (8-6) 3-1.
Cedar Falls got on the board early in the first half. They added a second goal 19 minutes into the game. Decorah’s lone goal came off the shoe of Kahler Folkedahl. She put the ball in the net off an assist from Anja Arend. Cedar Falls added one more goal just before the halftime break.
Decorah had seven shots on goal. Folkedahl produced two of them while Stef Bjerke also had two. Lindsay Smith, Shelby Stalberger and Arend contributed the other three. Olivia Rauk stood in goal, providing 19 saves.
The Vikings host Waverly-Shell Rock Friday, May 23, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, they are at West Delaware at 5:15 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
