It was a lopsided night Tuesday for the South Winn girls’ basketball team (0-1, 0-0 UIC) as the Warriors fell at Central Elkader, 59-22.

South Winn fought from behind the whole game facing a 17-2 first quarter deficit. By halftime the difference grew to 39-9. While the scoring was slower in the second half for Central, South Winn couldn’t gain the momentum to go on a run.

Senior Liz Tieskoetter provided leadership for the Lady Warriors with 16 points. Janessa Zweibahmer dropped in three, while Morgan Kleve connected for two. Hitting a free throw for SW was Clare Courtney for one.

The Warriors off until Tuesday, Dec. 3, when they go to MFL MarMac.
