Winneshiek Medical Center is unveiling a new service to patients… online.
Patient Online Services is a secure, interactive web program that allows patients and their families to take a more active role in their care, and is conveniently available through the medical center’s website at
Patient Online Services allows patients to:
• Request and track appointments with WMC health care providers in the Decorah, Ossian and Mabel clinics
• Exchange secure messages with patient’s health care team
• Obtain access to health information, including laboratory results, medications, immunizations, allergies, personal information, visit history, discharge/aftercare information and more.
• Submit updates to personal information prior to visit.
“Patient Online Services helps us meet the needs of our patients in an increasingly online environment,” said Tyler Menke, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System family medicine physician at WMC.
“The Patient Online Services website is compatible with personal computers and all mobile devices, so it is available for our patients when and where it is convenient for them.”
Menke added, “Patient Online Services is a great way for busy families to stay in touch with their health care provider. By sending us secure messages, we can communicate with patients between appointments to answer questions or provide guidance on a health concern.”
To create a Patient Online Services account, visit and fill out the simple online enrollment form. Users will receive a personal username and password and a link to enter the secure website. Patient Online Services is available to adults age 18 and older and parents/guardians can obtain access for children age 12 and under.
Youth ages 13-17 are not eligible for a Patient Online Services account. Individuals managing another adult’s health care can also obtain access to their online record after completing the required consent forms in person at WMC.
“We look forward to interacting with our patients in this new way,” said Menke.
“The secure website provides a quick and easy connection to a number of services; we encourage all clinic and hospital patients to sign up, log in, and explore the benefits of Patient Online Services.”
