Driftless Safari is a long-term, outdoor scavenger hunt that covers all of Winneshiek County and runs from Memorial Day until Halloween. The program is free and open to anyone that loves to explore and wants to experience some of Winneshiek County’s great places.

For 2020, there will be no materials to pick up at libraries. Visit www.driftless-safari.org to download a printable guidebook and learn more about how the 2020 Driftless Safari will work.

“This year’s Safari will be different than previous years, all in the effort to keep our community safe and healthy,” says Lilly Jensen, Driftless Safari Coordinator. “But it still offers a great way for families to get outside and have fun exploring Winneshiek County.”

According to Jensen, Safari participants should stay in appropriate group sizes and maintain social distancing and other protective measures. Any necessary adjustments to the program will be posted on www.driftless-safari.org.

The 2020 Driftless Safari is made possible through the generous support of the Center for Sustainable Communities at Luther College, Family Table Restaurant, the Winneshiek Soil and Water Conservation District, Winneshiek County Conservation, and the Winneshiek County public libraries.
