We need seasonal employees during our pheasant season starting in March and ending in January. The egg laying season starts in March and runs until July. During this time, employees will collect eggs and walk the pheasant pens (outside and inside) and bend over to pick up eggs. They will collect the eggs and put it in trays. Starting in August employees will need to catch birds by their feet, with nets or by hand. The pheasants will need to be placed in crates and prepared for shipment. Employees will need to be physically fit, must be able to lift 50 lbs or more, work in all weather conditions, able to walk 10 miles per day, able to bend over continuously and no fear of birds. Employer may provide pay increases for longevity and experience. Require 3 months’ experience and a high school diploma or GED. The employer, MacFarlane Pheasants, Inc. from Janesville, WI will pay the adverse effect wage rate of $13.54/hr. The employer guarantees 3/4 of the workdays in the work contract. The work tools, supplies and equipment are provided without cost to the worker, if applicable. Free housing is provided to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the workday. HELP WANTED: Temporary Work – 4 Job Openings - Starting: 03/15/2019 and ending: 12/21/2019 We need seasonal employees to do various manual tasks related to apple trees and production. These tasks will include but are not limited to pruning dwarf apple trees with air operated and manual hand tools, assisting in brush removal, assisting in the planting of apple trees and support systems, training of trees, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems. Applicant must be able to operate pruning tools and a chain saw in safe manner. Although the applicant will not be applying pesticides, they will be used, and all worker protection rules pertaining to their use must be strictly followed. In the fall employees will assist in sorting, grading and packing apples. Employees will need to assist with pressing apples into apple cider according to food safety standards. Employee will need to do various apple tree tasks, such as; tree training by attaching the tree to posts, tying down branches with string and or thinning apples from the trees. Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for up to 20 feet. Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours per day on concrete floor. Require 3 months experience. Food safety standards must be followed in all areas of orchard employment. Employer will provide training.
